If you haven't already got the kit you need to take part in your bike ride, don't worry we've put together a kit list of things to help make your ride easier.

  • Bicycle suitable for riding on roads and off-road cycle tracks.
  • Helmet that is light and comfortable.
  • Water bottle that can fit on your bike, it's important to keep hydrated whilst out on your ride.
  • Sun cream Apply a high factor (20+) especially on exposed places such as neck, back of arms and legs.
  • Gloves to stop you getting blisters if you're new to cycling.
  • Waterproof jacket in case we have a summer like last year!
  • Bicycle pump that fits on to your bike.
  • Bicycle multi tool to use if you need to adjust anything whilst out on your ride.
  • Inner tube puncture repair kit, just in case!
  • Cycling shorts that are padded to ensure a comfy ride.
  • Rucksack or saddle bag to keep your kit in.
  • Reflective gear and lights - you probably wont need these for most of our rides but if you think you'll be riding at night you must ensure you are fully visible to other road users.
  • Cycling shoes will help make pedaling more efficient.
  • Cycling socks will prevent your feet getting sweaty.
  • Sunglasses to protect your eyes, not only from the sun but also from bugs and other debris like flying mud.
  • First aid kit containing plasters, bandages, tape, safety pins and antiseptic cream (there will be medics on route but you may find it quicker to patch up minor cuts and bruises yourself).
